Miami Heat secured the NBA title for the second straight year, after a dramatic NBA Finals game seven against San Antonio Spurs, which the Heat won 95-88. Inevitably the hero was LeBron James who scored 37 points, equalling the record for an NBA Finals game seven.
Dwyane Wade scored 23 and Shane Battier added 18. James was also named Finals MVP for the second straight season and regular season MVP for the fourth year in five. In five seasons coach Erik Spoelstra has now led the Heat to five play-offs and two Championship wins. One of the highlights of their remarkable season was a run of 27 straight wins as they recorded a franchise season record of 66 victories.
