Usain Bolt confirmed once again he is the greatest sprinter of all time by successfully defending his 100 metres, 200 metres and 4x100 metres titles at the World Championships in Beijing. He is now the most successful athlete in the 32-year history of the event. In his career he has completed the sprint treble an amazing five times at global events, also achieving the feat at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games and 2009 and 2013 World Championships. He has now won 17 world and Olympic gold medals and is the first man to hold both 100m and 200m world records since automatic timing began in 1977.
