In Beijing, she became the first US athlete to win seven medals - three gold and four silver- in one Paralympic Games, becoming the most decorated US Paralympian of all time, with a career total of 17 medals. In addition she won four World Championship titles, two in skiing and two in cycling, and a total of eight medals across all events, taking her career World Championship medal count to 24. In June she became the first Paralympic athlete to receive an ESPYS nomination in the Best Athlete category.
