In 2025, Kim won her eighth X Games gold medal in superpipe, becoming the most decorated female X Games competitor and equalling Shaun White’s overall record. At the FIS Snowboard World Championships in March, Kim sealed her third World Championship title – once again equalling the competition record – while becoming the first woman to land a switch double cork 1080 during her gold medal halfpipe win. Kim also took first place in the halfpipe at the Laax Open, landing the highest score on the night with a 96.50 on her first run.
