Dora became world champion for the first time at 29-years-old with a victory at the 2025 WSL Finals in September, defeating the USA’s Griffin Colapinto 15.66 to 12.33. Challenging conditions and a left-hand reef break favoured Dora’s ‘goofy-footed’ technique, as he dominated a thrilling final. Earlier in the WSL season, Dora secured the No.1 seeding with three finals appearances and two event wins, beating Ítalo Ferreira at the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal, and Kanoa Igarashi at the Lexus Trestles Pro in California.
