Sporting icons unite to support Sport for Good in Hong Kong at the Laureus Charity Golf Invitational

International sporting greats joined local sporting heroes today, teeing off at one of Asia’s most spectacular golf courses for this year’s Laureus Hong Kong Golf Invitational.
Fundraisers and financial partners got the chance to play alongside Laureus Academy Member Luís Figo, the former Real Madrid star and Ballon d’Or winner and Laureus Ambassadors Yuvraj Singh, who won the 2011 Cricket World Cup with India, cricket legend and two-time Ashes winner Andrew Strauss and Annabelle Bond, the adventurer who in 2005 became the fastest woman to climb the world’s ‘Seven Summits’.
Hong Kong Laureus Ambassadors and former athletes, including Badminton player Amy Chan Lim-Chee, athlete and rowing medallist for Hong Kong Dr Malina Ngai, and swimmer and Asian Games medallist Vivian Lee also attended the fundraising event supporting the work of Laureus Sport for Good Hong Kong, China.
The event returned to The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club for the fourth time, following the success of tournaments at the iconic venue in 2023 and 2024.

The Hong Kong Golf Invitational sees Laureus bring together a coalition to empower young people in Hong Kong, China. Laureus Academy Members and Ambassadors, community organisations and dedicated corporate and donor partners come together with Laureus Sport for Good Hong Kong to create a powerful network that uses sport to address social challenges and provide young people with opportunities for health, confidence, and resilience.
The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Hong Kong, which received its Section 88 charity status in November 2024, is committed to using sport as a catalyst to remove social barriers and unlock opportunities for children and young people. Laureus has supported and funded over 20 programmes and organisations to date in Hong Kong. Current projects in Laureus’ expanding portfolio in Hong Kong include WISE, Splash Foundation and Rugby For Good.
The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club's Community Outreach and Charity Programme (COP) has a long history of supporting worthy causes, and this year, Laureus has been selected as a charity partner.
The partnership reflects the Club’s dedication to social impact and community engagement through sport, and their commitment to sports promotion and local youth empowerment. This year’s event was also supported by Patron Partner LimeTree Capital, who are headquartered in Hong Kong.

Participants attended a gala dinner after the on-course team competition, during which a number of luxury prizes were auctioned to raise funds for Laureus Sport for Good. This year, the prizes included: a limited-edition Portugieser Hand-Wound Monopusher Edition “Laureus Sport for Good” (Ref.IW515301) supported by Global Partner IWC Schaffhausen; opportunities to play at a variety of international golf events; and invitations to the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards in 2026. The event was MC’d by Laureus Ambassador Dan Nicholl.
