The youngest woman ever to surf on the Championship Tour and at the Olympics, she rose to the top of her sport in 2023 when she won her first world title at the age of 21. Starting as third seed, she beat five-time champion Carissa Moore into second place. She took the win in convincing fashion, defeating Moore in straight sets in the best-of-three match-up, becoming the first mainland American to win the title since 1997. Marks represented Team USA at the Tokyo Games and has already qualified for the Paris Olympics which are being held at Teahupo’o in Tahiti, French Polynesia.
