Arguably the greatest Alpine skier of all time, in 2023 she passed the 86 World Cup wins of Sweden’s Ingemar Stenmark, finishing the 2022/23 season winning her 88th World Cup race, as she took the overall, giant slalom and slalom titles. She also won her seventh World Championship gold medal in giant slalom and silver medals in slalom and Super-G. At the age of 18 years and 345 days, in 2014, she was the youngest ever Olympic slalom champion, and she won a second Olympic gold in the giant slalom in 2018. Stenmark said: “She’s much better than I was. She has everything, good physical strength, good technique and a strong head.” This is her seventh Nomination for a Laureus Award.
