At the age of 19, and standing just 1.42 metres (4ft 8ins), Simone Biles won four gold medals and a bronze as she became one of the most exciting stars of the Rio Olympic Games. She helped the United States to its second straight Olympic team gold medal, then went on to win the individual all-around, vault and floor exercise gold medals, plus bronze in the beam.
She is already the most decorated American gymnast with a career total of 19 Olympic and World Championship medals - 14 gold, two silver and three bronze.
