The current 400 metres hurdles Olympic champion, she added the World Championship gold medal in Eugene in July with a new world record of 50.68 secs, her fourth in 13 months, breaking her previous mark by .73 secs. She also won a gold medal as a member of the US 4 x 400m relay team. Still just 23, she is the first woman to break 52 secs and 51 secs for the event. She was named Female Athlete of the Year by World Athletics.
