From a digital ceremony broadcast from Seville, Spain, in 2022 we celebrated not just the glory, but the adversity and sacrifice that is the price of admission for the athletes who ended the night with a beautiful Laureus statuette.
The 2022 Laureus World Sports Awards was hosted by Lindsey Vonn, the greatest women’s skier of all time. Lindsey was honoured by the Laureus Academy in 2019 when she was presented with the Laureus Spirit of Sport Award to mark the end of her remarkable career.
The winners at the 22nd Laureus World Sports Awards included some of the greatest athletes in the world and reminded us not only of their historic achievements, but also the strength of character required to reach the summit of their sport.
